Thank God for Today

Day 2 of Gratitude of Prayer Thank God for Today. So much of our day is busyness. So much busyness that, by the time the day is over and our heads hit the pillow, the day just seems to be a big blur. Does this every happen to you? Thank God for the precious gift of today is the day He has made, so let's rejoice and be glad. Give thanks to Him for each minute He allows breath to fill your lungs. Ask Him to reveal to you the things in life that you can let go of to allow yourself time for what really matters in life. Extra reading Psalm 118:4; Matthew 11:28; 1 Thessalonians 5:18.

Mathew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Jesus gracious invitation comes to all who "labor and are heavy laden" with the troubles of life and the sins of their own human nature. By coming to Jesus, becoming His servant and obeying His direction, He will free you from your insurmountable burdens and give you rest, peace and His Holy Spirit to lead you through life. What trials and cares you carry will be borne with His help and grace. Look at Hebrew 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Because Christ sympathizes with our weaknesses we can confidently approach the heavenly throne, knowing that our prayers and petitions are welcomed and desired by our heavenly Father. It is called the throne of grace because from it flows God's love, help, mercy, forgiveness, wisdom, spiritual power, spiritual gifts the fruit of the Holy Spirit, and all that we need in any circumstances. One of the great blessings of salvation is that Christ is now our high priest, our mediator, who opens the way for us to come to the Father with confidence for all areas of need in our lives.

In spite of the busy schedule, the children's sports games, church including bible study, choir practice, church meeting, cooking, school and even our jobs consume so much of our time that we sometimes forget to even tell God thank you. But, the good thing is that God is a forgiving God and when we go to Him and repent and ask for forgiveness it shall be done. So we all must get in a routine in praying and giving God thanks.

A ship lost at sea for many days suddenly a friendly vessel. From the mast of the unfortunate vessel was seen a signal, "Water, water, we die of thirst!". The answer from the friendly vessel at once came back, "Cast down your bucket where you are." A second time the signal, "Water, water, send us water!" ran up from the distressed vessel, and was answered, "Cast down your bucket where you are." The captain of the distressed vessel, at last heeding the injunction, cast down his bucket. and it came up full of fresh, sparkling water from the mouth of the Amazon river. Booker T Washington.

Sometimes we are like that when it comes to obeying God, we send up signal after signal and He sends down answer after answer and we sometimes seem to ignore it or we do not totally trust God. But when we cast down our bucket much like this distressed ship we come up with blessing from God. Being obedient is the key to the Kingdom. God Bless.
